Snow...

Since it isn't likely that we'll have enough snow here to actually contemplate, I thought this poem by Wallace Stevens might take me there. Pretty good imagery...I'm freezing.

The Snow Man

One must have a mind of winter
To regard the frost and the boughs
Of the pine-trees crusted with snow;

And have been cold a long time
To behold the junipers shagged with ice,
The spruces rough in the distant glitter

Of the January sun; and not to think
Of any misery in the sound of the wind,
In the sound of a few leaves,

Which is the sound of the land
Full of the same wind
That is blowing in the same bare place

For the listener, who listens in the snow,
And, nothing himself, beholds
Nothing that is not there and the nothing that is.

Projects!

Normally I love them...and I love making lists of them. But I must admit that right now, I'm feeling a little Holiday stress. I have 16 projects to finish before Christmas. I guess the good news is that they are all in various states of completion. I mean, it isn't like I haven't even started. That's good, right?

I'm slowly getting some things accomplished. My Christmas cards are almost ready to go and I finished a project for sweet Amy...see? Isn't she adorable?

Nevermind that my decorations aren't up yet, much less my tree. Maybe tonight. I'm really excited to pull out all my ornaments. I have some really cute new ones to add this year. There are three neat ones from Disney World. They have ears...so fun!

Last night's list had seven items on it. Unfortunately, I have to carry four of them over to tonight's list. Oh well, better luck tonight!
